Shilo
Shilo is an ancient biblical place not far from Ariel where the tabernacle with the ark of the covenant is described to have found its first rest after the 40 year journey through the desert. Shilo now is a jewish community in the heart of samaria.
Excavations recently have revealed which must have been the foundations of the tabernacle at the time of Samuel, the prophet. Unfortunately this remarkable excavations are only privately founded, since beeing located in an area of unclear political state.
